Xiaomi Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition
The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition is aimed at price-conscious users who place very high demands on an Ultrabook. With its FHD Antiglare Horizon display, the 10th generation Intel CPU and a dedicated current NVIDIA graphics card, Xiaomi only uses high-quality and modern components. At the same time, the manufacturer uses an ultra-light and robust aluminium housing. From now on, the new star in the sky of the price-performance winner is available at TradingShenzhen at a low price.
The name of the notebook was not chosen by chance, as the display of the new technical gem from the Far East offers particularly narrow frames and picks up on the trend that smartphones have been following for years: An outstanding screen-to-body ratio. And it is precisely this ratio, with a value of 91%, that is convincing across the board. The inner life is also right. With a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, digital content is displayed pin sharp. The panel offers a light output of 250 nit. The 16:9 Horizon display also offers a very good viewing angle with 178 degrees.
Power for the coming years
The central question with an Ultrabook is always the performance. After all, only the best components should be installed in the smallest space in order to provide sufficient power for years to come. This is exactly where Xiaomi scores. The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core i7. The i7 10510U processor offers a clock rate of up to 4.9 GHz and is accompanied by generously sized 8GB DDR4 RAM.
Dedicated graphics card and large SSD in a small space
Without question, the Chinese manufacturer is very generous with the new Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition. The 512 GB of memory is not only large, but also extremely fast. Xiaomi installs a PCI Express Gen 3 NVMe SSD in the laptop, which has a reading speed of 3000 MB/sec. The write speed is also fast, at 1800 MB/sec. For the graphics card, the manufacturer relies on an NVIDIA GeForce MX 350, which with its 2 GB VRAM is absolutely sufficient for most casual gamers. Even simple video editing is possible with this compact powerhouse.
Versatile Multimedia Center
The premium manufacturer is also very generous with the rest of the equipment. The Mi Notebook 14 is perfectly usable as a multimedia center thanks to numerous connections. In opposition to Apple's Macbook, Xiaomi doesn't skimp on connection options. A USB-C 3.1 port is available, which provides for a rapid data transfer. Two Type A USB 3.1 ports as well as a USB 2.0 port are also built in. HDMI, Combo Audio Port and a charging port successfully round off the smorgasbord of integration interfaces.
A look at the other equipment is also worthwhile. The keyboard is absolutely high-quality, offers a pleasant pressure point and satisfies even the most demanding typist. The multi touch trackpad is also of high quality. For music playback, 2 x 2 W stereo speakers have been integrated, which support DTS audio. Alternatively, a headset can be connected via a 3.5 mm jack port. Wireless headphones and input devices can be connected via Bluetooth 5.0. Thanks to the Dual Band 802.11 ac WLAN module, a fast connection to the Internet is guaranteed. In addition, the 46 Wh battery promises a runtime of around 10 hours and can be quickly charged with the included 65W adapter. Finally, Xiaomi impresses with a combat weight of only 1.35 kg in view of the lavish equipment.
