With its slim case and almost rimless display, the M6s from Meizu does not look like the typical prey of a bargain hunter at first glance. The data sheet will also amaze some price-conscious smartphone users: With a Samsung Exynos 7872 as the core and a whopping 3 GB of RAM even ambitious mobile gamers will get their money's worth. The more than harmonious overall package is rounded off by a strong 16 megapixel main camera and a solid 3000 mAh capacity battery. The Meizu M6s is a direct challenge to all middle class devices from Samsung, Sony and Co.!
Inexpensive phone? You must be joking!
Although the Meizu M6s is averagely priced, the smartphone visually and in terms of processing leaves the impression of a high-end device. The reason for this is the lightweight yet very sturdy aluminum housing. This only weighs 160g. The slim design creates a pleasant hand feel despite the display size. A small highlight is the fingerprint sensor. It is not located on the home button or on the back of the case, as it is on other devices, but is located underneath the button that unlocks the device.
Display in 18: 9 format
Admittedly, there are now some mid-range smartphones with aluminum housing on the market. Rather, it is the overall design that makes the Meizu M6s something special. The display is the most obvious. The Chinese manufacturer has followed the current trend and installed a 5.7-inch 18:9 screen. Both on the left and on the right side, only a narrow edge is visible. With a resolution of up to 1440 x 720 pixels, the Meizu smartphone can display digital content with pin-sharp clarity. The native resolution is 282 PPI. With a maximum brightness of 450 cd / m², the contents can be clearly visible even under intensive sunlight.
Enough power for the future
Apart from the optics and the display, Meizu also exended its generousity to other technical features. A powerful Samsung Exynos 7872 processor serves as the core of the smartphone, which ensures very high performance with its 6 Cortex-A73 cores. The maximum clock rate of the six-core CPU is 2.0 GHz. The CPU is supported by 3 GB of RAM. In combination, more than enough power is offered for current mobile games and computationally intensive applications. You will also be able to enjoy the latest games smoothly with the Meizu M6s in the future.
Snapshots for the photo album
Camera is an important feature for many and a big concern especially for middle class devices. Unlike many other representatives of this price segment, the Meizu M6s is exceptional in this regard. The main camera is on the back of the housing, which provides a resolution of 16 megapixels for very good pictures and videos. The f/2.0 aperture captures good photos even in dim light. If the lighting is not sufficient, the built-in dual-tone LED flash ensures bright moments. Selfie fans will also get their money's worth. With 8 megapixels, the front camera offers a sufficiently high resolution for razor-sharp self-portraits. To be able to store the images directly on the internal memory, 32 GB of space is provided.
Meizu also offered other features from its generous aspect. The integrated 3000 mAh battery provides sufficient capacity even for longer working days. The current FDD-LTE standards are supported as well. With the 802.11 a, b, g and n support, you can also use your WLAN at home with high speed. Wireless headphones and smartwatches as well as fitness trackers can be connected to the Meizu M6s via Bluetooth 4.2 according to the Low Energy Standard. The operating system is Android-based Flyme 6 OS.
